Gold and Fine Jewellery

One piece, one buyer, one best price: we buy your diamonds and the gold that holds them.

At Diamond Brothers, we understand that your jewellery is more than just the diamonds it holds. While many jewellers only purchase the stones, leaving you to find a separate buyer for the gold, we offer a complete solution. Our experts evaluate both the diamonds and the gold setting together, ensuring you get the best price for your entire piece in one smooth process.

FAQs

What karats of gold does Diamond Brothers purchase?

Diamond Brothers buys gold jewellery in 9k (375), 14k (585), 18k (750), 21k (875), 22k (916) and 24k (999) purities. Yellow gold, white gold and rose gold are all accepted, including hallmarked European pieces, Middle Eastern gold, Asian gold and unmarked items requiring purity testing in Antwerp.

How much will I get for my gold jewellery?

Your gold jewellery's price is based on the current EUR gold spot price, the gold purity (karat) and the total weight in grams. Diamond Brothers' certified specialists test purity through XRF analysis or acid testing where required. Diamonds and gemstones within the piece are valued separately and added to the gold offer.

Can I sell broken gold chains or damaged gold jewellery?

Yes. Broken chains, single earrings, bent rings, snapped bracelets and damaged gold pieces are accepted by Diamond Brothers. The valuation is based on gold purity and weight rather than design, making damaged pieces equally valuable for their precious metal content. Diamonds within damaged pieces are recovered and valued separately.

Can gold jewellery with diamonds and gemstones be sold together?

Yes. Gold jewellery containing diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds or other gemstones is accepted as a complete piece. Certified gemologists value the gold content separately from the stones. Sellers receive a consolidated offer covering both the precious metal and the gemstones within a single transaction.

Is hallmarking required to sell gold jewellery in Europe?

Hallmarking is not required to sell gold jewellery to Diamond Brothers. While European hallmarks (Belgian, French, German, Swiss or UK assay marks) confirm purity, unmarked pieces are tested in Antwerp using XRF analysis. The verified karat is then used to calculate the final EUR offer to the seller.

How does the gold spot price affect what Diamond Brothers pays?

Diamond Brothers calculates gold offers using the live EUR gold spot price at the time of the physical inspection in Antwerp. The offer is based on the verified weight in grams and karat purity of the piece. Gold prices fluctuate daily, so submissions are valued at the market rate prevailing on the day of in-person assessment.
